The ground floor is composed of bright, open-plan spaces, including a fully-equipped contemporary semi-professional kitchen, two dining areas, comfortable seating areas, a huge open fireplace and washroom.
To the first floor, there is another relaxed sitting room for guests to enjoy.
Outdoor living
The kitchen leads outside to a covered terraced area, perfect for relaxed al-fresco dining, a morning coffee or a sunset ‘Aperitivo’.
From here, there are sweeping views of the breathtaking Tuscan landscape and access to the garden areas to the front and side of the house with various seating areas for relaxing and taking in the view, plus a 12 x 6 metre pool finished in authentic Italian travertine stone.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Macchione features 8 sanctuary-style guest bedrooms which are available for use on an exclusive basis.
4 double bedrooms are located on the ground floor; one of which is accessible from the living room and the other 3 have their own independent entrances, accessible from the garden.
A further 4 well-sized bedrooms (3 double rooms & 1 triple room) open up from the beautiful first floor sitting room, making it the perfect setting for groups and gatherings. All bedrooms have their own en-suite bathroom.
Enjoy relaxed dining on the covered terrace. Perfect for an aperitivo at 'golden hour' or dinner as the sun sets over the rolling hills.
Just 30 minutes by car, is the medieval city of Siena and many of Tuscany’s famous hill-top towns are under an hour’s drive away (Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimignano & Volterra).
Macchione grows organic lavender which is harvested in the summer and distilled into pure organic essential oil for guests to enjoy all year-round.

Macchione sits along the tracks of the world-famous 'Eroica' and 'Strada Bianca' (white track) bike races. We can arrange bike rental (including e-bikes) for you to explore these famous routes and enjoy the many panoramic viewing points.
